Is Kambo For You?
Understand which conditions Kambo’s bioactive peptides may help with, along with essential safety guidelines and disqualifying medical conditions.
-
Kambo contains anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving peptides that may help reduce pain, swelling, and muscle tension by promoting circulation and supporting the body's natural healing response. Some people turn to Kambo when other pain management methods fall short.
Arthritis & Joint Pain – Helps ease inflammation in the joints, improving flexibility and reducing stiffness.
Chronic Pain & Injury Recovery – Some people with severe chronic pain, even those dependent on pain medications, have used Kambo to help manage their symptoms.
Cancer and Tumors: Certain peptides in Kambo, especially dermaseptins, have demonstrated anti-tumor and anti-cancer properties in laboratory studies, though human research is still lacking.
-
Lyme Disease – Kambo may support detox pathways and help regulate the immune system, offering long-term relief from fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, and other common Lyme-related symptoms. Multiple sessions appear to provide the most lasting improvement in symptoms over time.
Viral, Bacterial & Other Infections – Certain peptides in Kambo have shown the ability to fight pathogens in lab studies. Kambo may help the body clear lingering infections and inflammation, and has been used to support recovery from issues like candida, UTIs, and general microbial imbalance.
Respiratory Issues & Long COVID Symptoms – Kambo may support lung function by reducing inflammation, opening airways, and clearing mucus — which can bring noticeable relief for those dealing with post-viral symptoms or chronic congestion. It’s common to physically feel mucus release during the purge.
Mold exposure - Kambo may assist the liver and lymphatic system in flushing out mold and environmental toxins that build up over time.
Autoimmune Conditions – Kambo may help regulate immune function and reduce inflammation, and some have used it for long-term symptom management. However, it can temporarily worsen flare-ups, especially when inflammation is already high. It’s best used during stable periods and in small doses, with careful attention to how the body is responding. It’s important to note that symptoms may worsen before improving. Dosage should be modulated based on the current intensity of a flare, with open communication to ensure the system is being supported—not overwhelmed.

Kambo contains peptides like phyllokinin and phyllomedusin, which act as natural vasodilators — helping widen blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and improve circulation. This can support better oxygen and nutrient delivery throughout the body, which many people experience as increased vitality and energy.
Other peptides, like sauvagine, help regulate stress hormones, which indirectly benefit cardiovascular health by easing pressure on the heart and circulatory system. While more research is needed, these effects may help relieve blood stagnation, boost circulation, and support overall vascular function.
As always, Kambo should be approached mindfully — especially for those with existing heart conditions.
-
Anxiety - Helps release tension, regulate the nervous system, and calm racing thoughts. Kambo has a parasympathetic effect after the purge, leaving people in a grounded, peaceful state.
Depression - Studies have shown Kambo to support a significant lift in depressive symptoms when done in a series — with most benefits observed after 3 sessions within 30 days. Certain peptides, like adenoregulin, may support mood regulation by interacting with the brain’s receptors.
Burnout & Chronic Fatigue - Kambo supports adrenal balance and help restore vitality when energy feels depleted. Its peptides activate natural detox pathways, easing the load on overworked systems like the liver and adrenals.
Migraines & Brain Fog – Kambo may ease headaches and mental fog by reducing inflammation and improving circulation. Peptides like dermorphin and deltorphin target pain receptors, offering a natural sense of relief. Many clients report feeling clearer and more focused after sessions.
PTSD & Trauma - Kambo helps break fear-based patterns and supports the release of trauma stored at a cellular level. Its peptides work on the nervous system, often triggering involuntary movement or emotional release as the body lets go of deep tension. Healing may unfold in waves, and a temporary healing crisis can occur.
Dementia & Parkinson’s - Some peptides have shown early neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory effects in lab studies. By supporting circulation, reducing inflammation, and aiding detox—especially in cases involving mold or heavy metal toxicity—Kambo may contribute to overall brain health.
Kambo’s bioactive peptides can potentially help with the following conditions:
-
Fertility problems - Kambo may support fertility by helping the body detox, balance hormones, and relieve issues like UTIs, low libido, PCOS, or painful periods. For those trying to conceive, sessions can focus on lymphatic points near the womb, which may bring on strong physical or emotional release. While Kambo isn’t a magic fix, it can help clear deeper blocks—like grief from miscarriage, abortion, or generational trauma. Fertility is complex, but stories of conception after Kambo, even after years of trying, are not uncommon.
Erectile Dysfunction - Kambo may support male fertility. One unexpected benefit my partner and I have noticed is improved erectile dysfunction—likely tied to Kambo’s positive effects on the circulatory and vascular system.
-
Parasite Support - While Kambo is not a standalone treatment for parasites, it may offer supportive benefits as part of a broader cleansing protocol. Kambo stimulates the immune system, promotes detoxification, and triggers bile release—all of which may help create a less hospitable environment for parasites, particularly single-celled organisms in the bloodstream or liver.
However, for more deeply rooted or intestinal parasites, Kambo may not be targeted enough to fully eliminate them. In these cases, antiparasitic herbs, fiber protocols, or pharmaceutical approaches like ivermectin are often more effective for thorough removal—especially for parasites that strongly attach to the gut lining.
Digestive & Gut Health - Kambo can be a powerful ally for gut healing. Many people notice improved digestion, more energy, and clearer thinking after working with the medicine. It helps stimulate bile flow, support the liver and gallbladder, and clear out toxins that can disrupt the digestive system.
Some of Kambo’s peptides have natural antibacterial and antifungal effects, which may help bring the gut microbiome back into balance—especially when paired with probiotics, fermented foods, digestive enzymes, and colon cleansing. People have found relief from issues like IBS, GERD, candida, and leaky gut.
-
Kambo may support metabolic and organ-related disorders through:
Liver and kidney detox
Appetite regulation
Anti-inflammatory effects
Enhanced digestive enzyme activity
Potential improvements to insulin sensitivity and energy metabolism
However, it’s not a replacement for medical care. It may serve best as a complementary approach when the underlying issue involves toxin overload, systemic inflammation, or imbalanced immune/metabolic function—and when the individual is not in a crisis state.
-
Please Note: Some addictions—such as benzodiazepines, alcohol, and opioids—can involve serious or even life-threatening withdrawal symptoms. These should always be treated under the guidance of a qualified medical professional. While Kambo may still be supportive in these cases, the physical detox process can be more intense, and reactions during treatment may be stronger. I do not offer Kambo for acute detox or active withdrawal and recommend that clients first receive appropriate medical care and stabilization before considering Kambo as part of their healing journey.
Alcohol Dependence - Kambo supports liver detox and emotional regulation—two key areas impacted by alcohol use. The peptide phylloseptin has antimicrobial properties that help reduce inflammation and support liver health, while sauvagine helps regulate the stress response by modulating cortisol levels through the HPA axis. Many feel more grounded, clear-headed, and emotionally stable after treatment. Note: alcohol must be fully out of the system before a session for safety.
Recreational Drugs
For substances like cocaine, meth, or other stimulants, Kambo may help purge residual toxins, regulate mood, and reset the nervous system. The peptides dermorphin and deltorphin act on the body’s opioid receptors, providing natural pain relief and emotional regulation—offering a gentler alternative to the intense highs and crashes common in stimulant abuse. For long-term users, Kambo is best used alongside therapy or a structured recovery program.Prescription Medications (Adderall, Painkillers, Benzodiazepines, SSRIs)
Kambo has been used to support people tapering off medications like Adderall, opioids, antidepressants, and anti-anxiety drugs. Its peptides can support the transition by reducing physical discomfort, promoting nervous system regulation, and restoring natural energy. For example, adenoregulin interacts with the adenosine system, which supports mood stabilization, sleep, and neuroplasticity. Sauvagine may also ease anxiety and stress during withdrawal. However, Kambo should never be used while SSRIs, benzodiazepines, or similar medications are active in the body. Always consult with a trained practitioner and medical provider before treatment.Nicotine & Vaping
Kambo may reduce nicotine cravings by clearing mucus from the lungs, reducing inflammation, and regulating the nervous system. Points placed along respiratory meridians can support detox of the lungs. The natural pain-relieving and mood-regulating effects of dermorphin and deltorphin may ease withdrawal symptoms and help calm compulsive urges. Many report a renewed connection to their breath and a sense of clarity and calm post-treatment.Sugar & Caffeine
Kambo may help reset the body’s relationship with stimulants like caffeine and sugar by supporting detoxification, reducing inflammation, and regulating energy levels. Peptides like phyllomedusin influence gut motility and digestion, which can help reset patterns of overuse and improve natural energy regulation. By calming the nervous system and improving sleep and rest cycles, people often find themselves less reliant on stimulants after treatment.Behavioral Addictions (Food, Tech, Codependency, Porn, etc.)
Not all addictions involve substances. Kambo can also help bring emotional awareness and release around behavioral patterns like emotional eating, tech addiction, or unhealthy relationship dynamics. The purge often brings up unresolved grief, anxiety, or shame—offering an opportunity to release the emotional drivers beneath the behavior. For food-related addictions, phyllomedusin helps regulate satiety and gut-brain communication, supporting a more balanced relationship with hunger and fullness. Additionally, bombesin-like peptides have been shown to influence feeding behavior and emotional regulation, and dermorphin helps soothe emotional pain. Many clients report feeling calmer, less reactive, and more connected to their bodies after treatment.
Safety and Potential Risks
Kambo is a traditional practice, not a medical treatment or substitute for professional healthcare. Often referred to as a 'poison' or 'venom,' its peptides are non-toxic to humans and effective against parasites, viruses, fungi, and bacteria.
When administered by a trained practitioner, Kambo is safe. However, certain medical conditions may make it unsuitable for some individuals.
